Code of Conduct
en français
The Paris and Sans Clue Hash believe it’s important to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone. Our Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that all members can enjoy our activities safely and feel supported by the community. By participating in our group, you agree to abide by this code.
1. Respect For All
We believe in creating an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or ability, feel welcome. Treat others with respect, kindness, and understanding- whether on the run or in post-run banter. Discrimination, hate speech, bullying, or any behavior that makes someone feel unwelcome has no place here.
2. Humor with Responsibility
Humor is encouraged, but it should never come at the expense of others. We all have different sensitivities, and it’s important to ensure that no one feels alienated or belittled.
- Playful banter? Encouraged. Jokes at someone’s expense? Not cool.
- Mischievous spirit? Love it. Aggressive behavior? Hard no.
Drinking comes with social responsibility. Beer is a well-earned reward, not an excuse to be reckless. Know your limits. If you’re intoxicated, arrange safe transportation.
3. No Tolerance For Harassment & Bullying
Sexual harassment, unwanted advances, bullying, or inappropriate comments are strictly prohibited. “It was just a joke” isn’t an excuse. Harassment and bullying include (but are not limited to):
- Unwanted physical contact, persistent advances after being told no, lewd or degrading remarks, stalking
- Intimidation, exclusion, or verbal abuse (calling names, intentionally being rude, spreading rumours or lies)
- Any behavior that makes someone feel unsafe
If you feel that you are being harassed, or if you witness harassment, please report it to Mismanagement immediately. Everyone has the right to feel safe and respected.
4. Violations and Consequences
We strive to address issues with fairness and transparency. accountability, and respect for everyone involved. We believe in second chances—but not infinite ones. Here’s how we handle violations:
First offense
- A friendly but firm conversation with Mismanagement to discuss the behavior, including a reminder of the Code of Conduct and expectations moving forward.
Second offense
- Temporary suspension from group activities (duration depends on severity).
- A reminder of group expectations and the potential consequences of further violations.
Third offense
- Longer term suspension from group activities or expulsion from the group.
- Depending on the situation, authorities may be involved.
Decisions will be made by the GM and Mismanagement team after careful consideration and due diligence of the situation.
5. Reinstatement After a Suspension
If a suspended member wishes to return once their suspension period has ended, they must:
- Meet with a GM or appointed Mismanagement leader to discuss the violation. They will be asked to reflect upon their actions and the impact it had on those involved, as well as demonstrate an understanding of why their behavior was unacceptable.
- Agree to any conditions set by Misman for reinstatement which could include (but not limited to): a probationary period of a specified duration, a personalized behavioral contract based on the Code of Conduct, agreement to avoid certain situations/events when requested, periodic check-ins with Misman.
- Show consistent respectful behavior in future interactions. Their behavior will be closely monitored by Misman to ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct.
- Any further violations or cause for concern will result in immediate removal and potential permanent expulsion from the group depending upon the severity of the situation.
This process will help create an opportunity for growth and accountability while ensuring the safety and well-being of all members. It also fosters a supportive environment for members to learn from mistakes and reintegrate in a positive way.
6. Role of (Mis)Management
The Mismanagement team is responsible for maintaining an inclusive, fun and safe environment for all members. This includes:
- Enforcing the Code of Conduct consistently and fairly.
- Taking prompt and appropriate action in response to any violation.
- Investigating any reported violations or concerns.
- Maintaining open communication with the group about any issues and the steps being taken to address them.
- If a suspension or removal occurs, the community will be informed in general terms (e.g., “A member has been removed due to behavior that violated our Code of Conduct”).
Misman will communicate any significant violations or changes to the group, either through group announcements or private messages, depending on the severity and situation. Transparency is key to maintaining trust within the group, and we will ensure that members are informed in a way that respects privacy while promoting accountability.
